James Blake James Blake (R & S)

The world has been waiting for somebody like James Blake to come along for a while. This is somebody who has single-handedly changed music for the better, completely tarnishing the views of critics that modern music is nothing but reworks and copies. This self-titled debut is absolutely stunning, Blake creates an unmistakable blend of soul and minimal dubstep, a sound which was completely new to everybody's ears back at the beginning of 2011. Blake has been at the forefront of a beat culture which has become so predominant this year, and he's already inspiring artists in future works new and old. This is the kind of musical thinking which makes an artist go down in history - I strongly believe that this album will be remembered for years to come, I'd be happy playing this to my grandchildren one day.

James Blake - To Care (Like You)
