Mariee Sioux



I just found this through The Fader, it's a little bit lovely. This is Californian folk that immediately sweeps you off your feet and carries you off to some distant dreamland where everything's just perfect. Though saying this the track basks in the sort of subtle intensity that reminds me so much of earlier folk music, there's this kind of secluded calmness about it which really makes you feel something powerful when you listen.
