I don't think I've posted anything which could be described as having hints of chillwave or shoegaze in it for a very, very long time. I felt like anything that carried those tags started to get stupid after a while, the initial feeling that connected me to it in the first place got lost somewhere in all the flurry. But then someone like Ancient Babes comes along and reminds you of what you've been missing. His new offering Occult Commando (taken from the Futuristic Demon EP) is a soft and intelligent track which acts as a personal ode to the days in which I used to listen to this type of music for hours on end without getting bored. It's nice to hear it done properly again:
