Lemonade

Not long ago Blood Diamonds and Grimes put out the highly addictive track Phone Sex - I've listened to this every single day for the past month, in fact I've played it so much that I'm probably about to completely kill it and in a couple of days I will never want to hear it again. Obviously I don't want this to happen so Lemonade's take on the track makes for a refreshing change. It's slowed down to the point where everything feels a bit more sensual and a little more emotive as Grimes' voice lingers, things are just a little bit calmer and it's a good feeling.

I just found this through The Fader, it's a little bit lovely. This is Californian folk that immediately sweeps you off your feet and carries you off to some distant dreamland where everything's just perfect. Though saying this the track basks in the sort of subtle intensity that reminds me so much of earlier folk music, there's this kind of secluded calmness about it which really makes you feel something powerful when you listen.
