BLDG5
I don't post about compilations often but it's not so often where the whole aesthetic of a compilation pulls my strings in every direction it could possibly pull them. The Ground Floor compilation was released October 7th and features a few big names such as Astronauts, etc. & Sun Glitters and comes from newish label BLDG5. The whole thing is free to download, and you can listen to a couple of my favourite picks below:

Shigeto
Shigeto remixing a Sun Glitters track? I must be dreaming. I feel closer to a summer beach party than Christmas party with this near-euphoric take on Mouth. A stark contrast to the paralysingly hypnotic atmosphere of the original. Stream below:

Carling Ruse

I kind of stumbled upon Carling Ruse's music by chance, she's basically a self-proclaimed 'girl+keyboard+computer' and makes some of the most beautifully crafted beats I've heard in a long time.
The below track's called 'be there', technically, everything about it is perfect, but also it has this airy nostalgic feel to it; the kind of feeling that gives you chills when you listen and that's like the ultimate test for a good song right? So basically I think I may have potentially found someone to outshine my love for Sun Glitters with the whole dreamy vibes thing by a whole long way. Hit up her Soundcloud to hear more.
Supermarket Love & Sun Glitters
I'm going to have my ears peeled out for Supermarket Love in 2012, this remix of 'There' - a track originally by ILNL favorite Sun Glitters - has a certain spark to it, a sense of artistic flair which not only comes from the excellent production, but also the wonderful dappling in experimentation of different sounds and layers. A perfect little track to see the year out with.

Steffaloo
Who is Steffaloo? I really want to know, because she's been featuring in pretty much everything recently. Her voice has graced it's presence on tracks by Blackbird Blackbird, Sun Glitters & Billy Comfort this past year. It's obvious to see why everyone's wanting to work with her, her voice has a calm to it which is fascinatingly beautiful, and basically I can't get enough of her. Take a listen to some of her collabs here:
So after some digging around I've found some of her own stuff, and it's absolutely what I was hoping for, even better actually. Download 'the red runs free' from her bandcamp for free.

Sun Glitters
I love Sun Glitters. He's amazing. His bandcamp describes his music as 'an ocean of lush melodies, pitch-shifted vocal samples, ghostly digi-diva choirs, warm bass melodies driven by alternately dense and relaxing beatwork combinations between downtempo and wonky beats'. I couldn't have put it better myself. I'm going to go crazy and put up his Spring EP AND a few more recent tracks because they all need to be listened to. Enjoy:
Hair.
A life-changing event occurred today. I made the brave transition from side-fringe to full-fringe. It's a big deal, like moving address or something. But it was a successful move. So thanks Jamie at T&G. Here's some songs about hair:
the wind caresses her hair by Sun Glitters
Sunset-Sunshine Hair by micahbader
Oh and despite this version being considerably better, the song obviously has to be thrown in there
