Small Topography

Absolutely beautiful track from a solo project I have very little knowledge about called Small Topography. In fact this is such a sweet track I don't want to taint it with pointless description, but click on the track link below and you can download Estates for free. Enjoy:

Inherent

I first posted about Inherent about 3 weeks ago and his track Seventy was received really well. This new one is simply out of this world though, sort of like a bouncier Angel Echoes it's the epitome of perfect. Give Lost Reason a listen below and grab a free download if you like:

Mary Cassidy & Jon Lawless

The new one from Mary Cassidy & Jon Lawless is ever so lovely. The pair dance together in vocal swirls above teasing synths which - I have to admit - I thought were going to launch into some big, M83-style instrumental overkill at any moment, thankfully they didn't and the results are super chill.  As a result, I'm now left kind of smitten with this song. Stream Make it Do below:

Psymun

My day consisted of nothing but basking in the sun and stroking cats, so this mellowed-out track from Psymun feels pretty appropriate right now. Stream Lobby Music below:

Wolf Bones

A big thank you to Sound Injections for putting me onto this super laid back Wolf Bones track. It's kind of reminiscent of XXYYXX, the way there's so many delicate little textures of sound falling on top of each other, and those vocals weaving through, close your eyes for a second and it feels like you're floating. Nothing seems more apt for Sunday listening than this:

Magical Mistakes

This track by Magical Mistakes is the most perfect representation of how I feel right now - with the snow piling high outside my window, there really isn't much else to do except hibernate. If you don't feel like doing anything today either, download this and thank me later:

Water Graves

Here are some dreamy vibes coming all the way from Perth, Australia from a duo called Water Graves. Everything about this song encompasses my entire ideology with regards to life, it's...just. Stream & download below:

Vondelpark & Cave Painting

I cannot express enough how grateful I was to come home and hear this after trudging through the wet and cold all day. This is Vondelpark's incredible remix of So Calm by Cave Painting; although if anybody could pick out any similarities between the two I'd be pretty impressed. Perfect music for a rainy day; grab a free download below:

Spies on Bikes

The latest addition to the Relief in Abstract roster comes in the form of Spies on Bikes and my god it's a good one. His debut album is called Man Overboard, it's basically this beautiful mix of ambience and intensity patterned by secluded vocals and shimmering synths. It sounds complicated; and in a way it is, but it's genuinely a great album, pulled together with such clarity I'd recommend it to anybody.

As with all Relief in Abstract releases, the album is available to download on a name your price basis over at their bandcamp. You can stream a couple of my picks below, enjoy:

mornings

Here's another beautiful sounding electronic producer who's named after a certain time of the day. Grab a free download of the ever-so dreamy Hold On below:

Joel Hood

In terms of blogging, there is no better feeling than receiving music from somebody that sounds like it was made exactly with myself in mind. Obviously it wasn't, I just wish it was. But wow this is good, and what's even more amazing is that Joel himself has only been making music like this for a few months and he comes up with stuff like this.

He's also got big things coming, releasing a single via Bad Panda Records on September 10th and having just finished a remix for Chris Coco's Melodica label, I guarantee a whole lot of people will know who he is in a month or two. Stream Teardrops & Campanero below:

My Morning Jacket & Washed Out

Washed Out is without a doubt one of my favourite artists of the past 5 years. He's put together this ridiculously blissful remix of Outta My System by My Morning Jacket, it's part of a series set to be released as an EP, Outta My System Remixez Y Friendz which also features Dave Sitek. Give it a spin below:

Handss

Previously known as Claptrap, now known as Handss - this guy is responsible for making music that makes you think that life's just perfect. Treat yourself to a free download of the new track coat below:

Listen to more handss here.

DIADAINCONSUPERTRAFRA

Here's some music from someone who's name I have difficulty pronouncing. DIADAINCONSUPERTRAFRA is the stage name of Lorenzo Badioli (a name much easier to pronounce), he hails from Milan and the song below is kind of like guitar music for people who don't like guitars. It's a beautiful way to end a mellow Sunday, so enjoy:

Vondelpark

A word of warning, expect there to be many, many Vondelpark related posts in the near future as the R&S based act is soon to release their first full-length LP. I'm completely in love with this project, and if you haven't yet heard the NYC Stuff & NYC Bags EP or the Sauna EP then I'd highly recommend you do because I can't emphasise enough how good they actually are. So I'm glad that this post has finally given me the excuse to feature one of my favourite songs of all time:

Wow I've never done a double video post before, but finding this more recent cover of that chorus Nate Dogg sings in that 50 Cent song was actually the whole reason for this post:

Poolside

I just got linked to this track getting home after like the longest day of my life and I have to say, there is no better feeling than listening to this right now. The very appropriately named 'Slow Down' comes from LA duo Poolside who make chilled out discoey vibes for - well - the poolside really. Grab a free download below:

Carling Ruse

I kind of stumbled upon Carling Ruse's music by chance, she's basically a self-proclaimed 'girl+keyboard+computer' and makes some of the most beautifully crafted beats I've heard in a long time.

The below track's called 'be there', technically, everything about it is perfect, but also it has this airy nostalgic feel to it; the kind of feeling that gives you chills when you listen and that's like the ultimate test for a good song right? So basically I think I may have potentially found someone to outshine my love for Sun Glitters with the whole dreamy vibes thing by a whole long way. Hit up her Soundcloud to hear more.

Tours & Steffaloo

This is the new one from Tours, it's beautiful, and it's me in a nutshell. Also I don't think I've ever disliked anything that Steffaloo has featured in so this is like a perfect collab. The first collection of words that came to my mind to describe this were 'pulsating explosions of rhythmic bliss', but then I realised that it sounded really lame. So I'm just gonna say that it's pretty terrific, you can download it for free by clicking here, but I really like the video so I'm gonna show you that too:

FaltyDL

It's FaltyDL's birthday today, he's obviously one of these super kind people who likes to give out presents on their special day as he's just uploaded this particularly pleasant track to his Soundcloud, so I'd like to show my appreciation by posting about it. It's called 'Do you box?'and it's pretty perfect for this lazy Sunday evening.

Supermarket Love & Sun Glitters

I'm going to have my ears peeled out for Supermarket Love in 2012, this remix of 'There' - a track originally by ILNL favorite Sun Glitters - has a certain spark to it, a sense of artistic flair which not only comes from the excellent production, but also the wonderful dappling in experimentation of different sounds and layers. A perfect little track to see the year out with.
