Mary Cassidy & Jon Lawless
The new one from Mary Cassidy & Jon Lawless is ever so lovely. The pair dance together in vocal swirls above teasing synths which - I have to admit - I thought were going to launch into some big, M83-style instrumental overkill at any moment, thankfully they didn't and the results are super chill. As a result, I'm now left kind of smitten with this song. Stream Make it Do below:
twyaen
twyaen are a Welsh duo based in London, who are kind enough to provide us with a giant, melodic hug in the form of their debut single Keep on Waiting. This is a beautiful introduction to the pair; gentle, laid-back and smooth with a soulfulness to it which kind of reminds me of Rhye, the quality of which is pretty much a sure indication that we'll be hearing a lot about them from now on. Take a listen below:
SALES
I feel like I've been waiting to hear Sales' music all my life. There's a simplicity to it which feels so serene, something which is nothing short of a breathe of fresh air when you find yourself trawling through endless submissions that sound way too over-produced for hours on end. I guarantee you will fall in love with this duo from Orlando in an instant. Stream their tracks Toto & Renee below:
Mary Cassidy & Jon Lawless
When two voices fit together like bread and butter, I like to think that there's no other explanation for these musicians meeting other than pure fate. Mary Cassidy & Jon Lawless are a new duo from Guelph, Canada who were certainly destined to make music together. You can grab a free download of their rather beautiful new single Crowded House, which borrows a nice little sample from Chad Valley's Evening Surrender.

Sabota
As a girl of Polish heritage, I can tell you that Sobota means Saturday in Polish, but now I can also tell you that Sabota is the name of a very exciting production duo hailing from Vancouver. You learn something new everyday, no? Stream the excellent October below:
Gaps
Pick of the day has to come from Brighton duo Gaps, their track All The Days Are Now is most definitely a keeper, and one which provides the most perfect ending to a lazy Sunday. Stream below:
Team Morale
Kent duo Team Morale have just announced their debut EP Forteana for February 18th, and with that comes this beautiful self-made video for Aurora. The track itself feels inspired by the sublime, the kind that encourages unknown longings - the quality in music that hits me most I think. Funnily enough, 'Forteana' is a word that expresses a belief in the unusual, the unexplainable and the magical - I'd say Aurora fits within that definition pretty well. Enjoy.
Phantom
This is Finnish duo Phantom, and this track of theirs is simply phenomenal. Kisses is their second single, having been premiered over on The Guardian today I'm pretty amazed it hasn't yet spread like wildfire across the internet. You can grab a free download below, also listen out for the daring Erik Satie sample half-way through - wow.
Cry Guy
Cry Guy is a new duo consisting of Little Spoon's Cameron Potter and his friend Virginia, and their track Gumdrop Wishes is simply breathtaking. Promising a full-length release this Spring titled Tears of Whatever, I seriously can't wait to hear more from them. Huge props to NFOP for posting this track originally, stream below:

AlunaGeorge
There is so much good British music at the moment. AlunaGeorge are obviously already the next big thing - they have that perfect mix of R&B and bass that everyone goes crazy for but the thing with them is they do it better than most. That's cause they have the advantage of possessing both the amazing voice and the superb production skills. These guys are probably well on their way to taking over the likes of Jessie Ware, Katy B and SBTRKT in becoming the very best.
The single Your Drums Your Love will be out October ahead of next year's highly anticipated/already buzzed debut album, stream below:

Stubborn Heart

I love how interesting this is. Part of Kaya Kaya Records this is Stubborn Heart, a London-based duo who make what can only be described as soulfully bassy music. It's clever and it's deep, wowwww I'm getting so many good submissions lately it's ridiculous. Best of all this track is free, enjoy:

Elkaset

I greatly apologise for the lack of posts recently, i'm not too sure what I've been doing for the past 2 weeks but it hasn't involved much exploration of the internet.
Anyway, I'm back and I have with me this extra special track from a new Dublin duo called Elkaset. Their music is super interesting, made from a concoction of analogue synths, samplers, voices and cheap guitars the below track‘Every Night’ is the first sample of their work. I think it's great, it's like a kind of twisted Caribou/Hot Chip concotion; a very defining sound that really sets these guys apart from anything else that's turned up in my inbox recently. I really think these guys are going to take off, so take a listen below:
