George Maple x Slime

Not even 3 weeks in, and the most exciting track of the whole year may well already be here. Well, for me anyway. You have no idea just how excited I was when I heard that these two had collaborated.  George's voice and Slime's production/general musical capabilities fit together more perfectly than I can be bothered to begin explaining. Listen to Began to Say below:

Sivu

The new collaboration between Sivu & Marika Hackman is wonderfully soft & understated, and is undoubtedly Sivu's best work yet. I wouldn't complain if these two decided to put up a few more like this, a whole LP perhaps? Grab a free download below:

George Maple + Kilo Kish + Kwes.

Reading the names of the three artists featured on this track, Gripp was never going to be anything less than perfect.Take a listen to George Maple, Kilo Kish & Kwes do their thing together below, click on the link for a free download too:

TWOS x Tours

This is one for all you Majestic lovers out there. Both TWOS and Tours are producers who really know how to craft the most beautiful and interesting electronic music, and when they get together wonderful stuff like this happens. As We Strive is kind of reminiscent of a Sun Glitters track in the way the beat pulsates through the track kind of like it's breathing life into it. But those vocal samples are really what make this for me. Take a listen & download below:

Mister Lies

I cannot wait for the release of Mister Lies' debut full-length next month. We've already heard a couple of cuts from Mowgli, for example align and dionysian, both amazing. But nothing quite prepared me for the sheer beauty of Hounded, the newest teaser from the album. Featuring stunning vocals from Exitmusic, it's the best near-4 minute experience I've had all day. Stream below:

Maribou State & Pedestrian

Once again I'm left speechless after hearing a Maribou State track. This collaboration with the equally brilliant Pedestrian really is music comparable to no other. Stream below:

Short Stories

Koreless & Sampha have united to become Short Stories. Having two of my favourite musicians on one record ensures On the Way is truly and incomparably beautiful. The single will be released Jan 28th via Young Turks, give it a listen below:

Sorrow

The most perfect musical partnership of the day comes in the form of a Sorrow track called Your Lips Your Soul. Featuring both CoMa and Shura, the track is completely on another level of breathtaking. Grab a free mp3 below:

Tours & Steffaloo

This is the new one from Tours, it's beautiful, and it's me in a nutshell. Also I don't think I've ever disliked anything that Steffaloo has featured in so this is like a perfect collab. The first collection of words that came to my mind to describe this were 'pulsating explosions of rhythmic bliss', but then I realised that it sounded really lame. So I'm just gonna say that it's pretty terrific, you can download it for free by clicking here, but I really like the video so I'm gonna show you that too:

Asa & Stumbleine

Asa & Stumbleine really are a perfect combination aren't they? This is Tinderbox, track 4 of their forthoming EP 'Your Secret', which is set to be released on the 7th of this month via Inspected. All I really need to say is that if it were possible to jump into a big fluffy cloud, I think this is what it'd feel like:

Py

This is an exciting pairing if ever I saw one - George Fitzgerald;one of the most hyped about House producers of the past couple of years has collaborated with London based singer PY. This one is part of a mixtape that Py will be releasing next month called Tripping on Wisdom, it'll feature collaborations with some of the UK's most talented new DJs such as Damu & Breton. You can grab a free DL of Lungs below:

Membrain

Claire Boucher (Grimes)is collaborating with fellow Canadian Tim Lafontaine (Cop Car Bonfire); a pretty well-known busker on the streets on Montreal, they've got a project called Membrain which the pair are due to release their first EP 'Sit Back, Rewind' under later this year. Listening to their preview tracks it's pretty obvious we're going to be in for a treat; further demonstrating Claire's ability to make and produce amazing instrumental music whilst making me wish Cop Car Bonfire would come and busk around the UK for a bit. You can preview and download several of their tracks via Soundcloud:

Four Tet & Burial

Burial + Four Tet have paired up for their third collaboration, for me this is pretty much a wonder-collaboration, the marrying of musical royalty. It's only been around for 20 hours and it's already got well over 130000 plays on Soundcloud - unbelievable. Nova is unsurprisingly dense, floating vocal samples and rippling atmospherics make way for a beautiful keyboard riff half about 90 secs in. The interaction between the sounds is compelling, the track works well in combining the two artists unique sounds - playing off one another to create a track in which neither artist can be said to have a greater influence. Perfect listening for a dreary Monday, stream below:

CSLSX & I Break Horses

The best kind of music is always going to be the stuff that you can't immediately shove a label on to - and this little collab by Swedish-natives I Break Horses and Philly's own CSLSX certainly isn't an easy one to pin point. Violent Sea crosses between wavy vibes and detached vocals characteristic of what some may define as chillwave (eurr) but there's some hard-hitting instrumentation which livens everything up in a way which makes it sound like a cross-between Washed Out and M83...(?) But then again my interpretation is open to interpretation. Judge for yourself & grab a free DL below:
