Tiger Tsunami

Here's a bit of easy listening to see of the double bank holiday weekend from London's Tiger Tsunami. His signature chopped vocal cuts lull ever so nicely  over soft guitars & synths in on this super nice remix of Emily & the Woods' Helios.

Bunki

This is Bunki, a London-based producer who's just emerged out of the academic depths of Goldsmiths to offer up his talent to the rest of the ord. In his email to me, he said that he wanted to create 'expressive and intelligent electronic music, which is based on layers of sounds that come together to create a unique outcome'. SKTCH achieves just that - sparse but organic, I think Bunki is definitely one for the future. Stream below:

Semi Precious

Apparently all you need to make a killer track is a nice voice and two instrumental samples - as demonstrated here by South East Londoner Semi Precious. Take a listen below:

Colo

This new one from London's colo really hits the spot - I think it's for introverts to extrovertly dance along to whilst the extroverts are helplessly stilled. What I'm trying to say is - it's a definite head-nodder. You can buy the 7" which is out on Ki Records here

City

I'm feeling this from new Canadian born, London-based producer City. He's just released a short, 3-track EP titled November. For me the stand-out of which is In the City. A sort of audio depiction of that 'end of night' feeling - it's for people who can't be bothered to dance anymore and just want to nod along in a trance-like state whilst wrapped in a blanket. Jengan Skies

London-based producer Jengan Skies has just released his debut Slates EP - a sort of introspective, but truly lovely and immersive patchwork of sounds. The link to the full EP is right here,  stream a couple of my picks below:

Dems

Toca's Miracle is  probably one of the best songs from the turn of the millenia, and is way up there as one of my favourite songs from childhood. London's Dems have covered Fragma's crowd pleaser/dancefloor filler, stripped it down and revealed something far more lonely. It bloody works too, listen & download below:

Vondelpark

Those who read regularly may be familiar with the fact that I am basically a Vondelpark super-fan and I'm not afraid to admit it. Take a listen to the trio's delightful dub mix they put together for Pale, and expect to hear this played in every bar or club you walk into for the foreseeable future.

Pále

After two straight days of hating everything that's been thrown at me, the new one from Pále is so wonderful to hear. All Silver is sort of reminiscent of Gold Panda, the Lucky Shiner vibe is more than audible with dreamlike vocal samples that cut and weave through a beat that flutters so gently and makes me oh so happy. nohumanfolk

I just came across London based nohumanfolk on Believe in Sound and now I'm in complete awe. This is one of those incredibly neeky moments where I feel so compelled to write about someone's music, but an air of giddyness prevents me from writing in an even vaguely coherent manner and thus it's probably just best that you take a listen below. Enjoy:

twyaen

twyaen are a Welsh duo based in London, who are kind enough to provide us with a giant, melodic hug in the form of their debut single Keep on Waiting. This is a beautiful introduction to the pair; gentle, laid-back and smooth with a soulfulness to it which kind of reminds me of Rhye, the quality of which is pretty much a sure indication that we'll be hearing a lot about them from now on. Navy Shade

It makes me sad realising that I probably won't ever inspire a producer to make a beautiful track like Julia Roberts did. Somehow, Kasia doesn't have quite the same ring to it. London producer Navy Shade is currently gaining support from the likes of Bondax, Armeria etc. & it's not too difficult to see why. Take a listen to Julia below:

The Hics

With the release of their Tangle EP set for August 19th, London 6-piece The Hics continue to impress with their soothing new track Russian Dolls. I also just discovered that these guys are all aged between 18 and 21; hard to comprehend when you can clearly hear the sheer level of sensitivity and maturity behind their music that sounds way beyond the years of a bunch of people no older than myself. Moonrags

London duo Moonrags prove for a second time that they're really ones to watch out for with their new track Games. It's such a good transition from Down Days, musically continuing that same summery calm. But lyrically, it's as though there's a narrative that flows between the two tracks; a change in mood from loss to freedom, something which makes me ever more interested in the pair. George Maple

Hearing George Maple's voice gently crooning against the backdrop of faint crackles whilst watching the sun go down is without doubt the most beautiful thing I've experienced today. Grab the ever so lovely OPST for free below:

Semiotics

Semiotics is actually a pretty good name for an artist, I'm pretty surprised no one's ever thought of it before. Anyway, this is the actual Semiotics, he's a producer based around London/Guildford and has a debut EP coming out on May 6th. That's all I can really tell you for now, so take a listen to his track Moda below, which is completely stunning by the way:

Airhead

Damn this is pretty, all I hear is summer and romance and it's far too inviting. Autumn is taken from Airhead's forthcoming For Years EP, out June 11th. Stream below:

Qtier

London trio Qtier just put up a new track as follow up to their recent debut EP. Kind is in no doubt just as clever as it is beautiful, lending itself to a powerful intimacy created through spacious sounds and soft vocals, it's surely one for the repeat button. Take a listen below:

Tourist.

London via Brighton producer Tourist just dropped the second track from his new Tonight EP. I Have No Fear kind of elicits a similar feeling to the one you get waking up and having no idea where you are  , a sort of uncertain intrigue. It's kind of brilliant really, with each listen I'm more dazed by the end than I was at the start. Take a listen below:
