20syl

I've noticed this pretty amazing video for the new 20syl track doing the rounds lately, I watched it in full for the first time about 3 hours ago and have had it on loop since. Pretty simple; but so, so pleasing to watch - I thoroughly reccomend.

Dromes

Orlando producer Dromes has been on quite a few radars lately & everything about his new one screams 'summer, summer, summer'. Grab a free download over at Bandcamp and stick it on when the sun shines.

Turks & Caicos

Having been cut off from the internet for the past month, I came pretty close to missing out on this absolute gem from Turks & Caicos - super grateful for the powers of the internet.

Slime

My second consecutive Slime post features another collaboration with the wonderful George Maple - it's just simply too good to miss out on.

Slime

I'd happily sale through life listening to nothing but Slime's productions - calm & intelligent music is all you need. This one features Jeremiah Jae & is taken from a 10 track beat tape titled In the Brick House which I absolutely cannot wait for, album number one is also to follow suit.

Begin

Summer couldn't come soon enough with this absolutely marvellous track from Manchester's Begin. Until it does, all I can do is imagine how perfect this would sound somewhere on the shore of the Balearic Sea. Listen to Love Interlude above.

Gilligan Moss

Sound manipulator of the moment Gilligan Moss puts his own incredible touch on the equally amazing new one from Sacred Animals: Gooey. So good you can do little but let out a faint 'ooft' each time the play button is pressed.

Gate Four

Gate Four are a Vancouver-Toronto based duo creating atmospheric soundscapes with an emphasis on warm, melodic tones, who seek to grasp the listener's attention in the absence of words or vocals. Continental Drift does just that - with influences coming through left right & centre from all over the musical spectrum.

Grave Goods

I'm really not a fan of trap,I accidentally ended up at a trap night once and it was one of the most painful experiences of my life. And yet I find myself hooked on the debut single from Grave Goods - which is defintely sort of trappy. Maybe it has something to do with Mothica's stunning vocals, or maybe it's because its genuinely well produced and far more subtle than 90% of the stuff that roles up in my Soundcloud feed. Either way, it's definitely worth checking out.

Floating Points

Despite seeing Floating Points countless times, listening to a mix of his at least once a day, and hitting play on Vacuum Boogie every single time I go anywhere; I know I will never get bored of anything he does. So news of a Floating Points release is always good news - a sporadic occurrence which is guaranteed to be crafted & composed to a tee.  Here's King Bromelaid - one side of the 12" dropping on Eglo 'soon'.

March Mix

The third instalment in the monthly mix series.

Plastic Plates

As it's quarter past 12 on a Friday morning it seems fitting to post something for the weekend. This comes from New York music-maker Felix Bloxsom, otherwise known as Plastic Plates & is released today via Sweat it Out.

Dash Positive

Instrumental hip-hop never seems to have a grey area - it's always either incredible or boring and unimaginative. This track from Santa Barbara producer Dash Positive fits very neatly into the 'incredible' category. Warm is the most wonderful amalgamation of orchestral sounds and beats, nodding towards artists such as Bonobo & Emancipator.

Mo Kolours

I've been waiting to come across something as interesting as this for days. My Little Dog draws influence from a whole mish-mash of styles such as hip-hop & soul, topped by crooning vocals and rolling steel drum loops. But the killer thing about this is the fact that it's still just a wonderfully simple song about a guy and his dog. It's taken from Mo Kolours' debut album which is out March 24th via One Handed Music.

Karl Off

Belgian composer Olivier Désir (aka Karl OFF) is a member of the Radio OFF musical collective, he produces wonderfully intelligent tracks such as this & his EP Horses, Guns & Chipsets is out on Bandcamp tomorrow (15/03).

Tirzah

I'm still very much in love with  last year's I'm Not Dancing EP, but Tirzah's new one No Romance may just be her best yet. It belongs on a whole new EP of the same name which is up for release April 21st via the infamous Greco-Roman label.

#XI

The debut track from self-proclaimed 'normcore' duo  #XI  is up for free download and -normcore aside - it's definitely worth checking out.

DrumTalk

Huntleys + Palmers (Sophie,  Auntie Flo) first release of 2014 comes from anonymous producer DrumTalk - a hugely listenable tussle between exuberance & melancholy. Take a listen ^.

Peekaboo

Italian producer Lorenzo Badioli used to go by the moniker Diadainconsupertrafra - obviously this was far too difficult to pronounce or think about, so he's come up with the much shorter alternative Peekaboo. I was going to choose just one of the 3 tracks below to stream but it was genuinely too difficult, each track is characterised by that same wonderful atmosphere whilst throwing a unique range of subtly complex beats & loops into the mix. Take a listen below:

Koloto

These blissful plucks and glitches come from Canterbury-based producer/ Delta Sleep bassist Maria Sullivan & are taken from her 5-track Mechanica EP which is up for free download over at Bandcamp. Listen below and click back <<< for the download.
