Labyrinth Ear

It's so good to hear new material from London duo Labyrinth Ear again, especially when it's as Balearically tinged and as full of promise of a debut album as Crescent Moon is. The Orchid Room is set for release April 14th, wrap your ears around the first taster asap.

Songs of 2012: Part 1

I know you probably all have these end of year lists coming out your ears by now, but I'm quite a fan of the whole list format & thought I'd share with you 20 songs from 2012 that I don't think I'll ever forget.  The whole numerical thing was too much for me so they're not in any particular order, it's more my idea of a perfect playlist than anything. Listen to part 1 below, thoughts appreciated :

Labyrinth Ear

Here's some very exciting new music coming from the most perfect sounding pair in the entirety of the UK music-scene right now, Labyrinth Ear. They make hypnotic music which leaves you feeling a little bit dazed, a little bit vulnerable and a little bit in love all at once.

The duo stole my heart as soon as I heard this song all but a year ago, and I'm pleased to say Urchin is equally as spectacular - and - if there was just one act to pay attention to this year, I wholly recommend it to be these guys. Stream/download below and go get lost in your thoughts for a while, enjoy:

Labyrinth Ear

This is probably the first time that I've been sent a link to an artist and have become so addicted to their music that I've actually forgotten to write up a post on them. That was about 3 months ago. Being the incredible geek that I am, when I realised my mistake the site felt naked without a Labyrinth Ear mention on it. So now I'm going to take the chance to tell you how unbelievably good the Apparitions EP is. Except I don't really need to, just hit the video link below and you'll see what I mean - this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. After you've killed the replay button, I strongly recommend that each and every one of you heads straight over to their bandcamp to download Apparitions.
