Spies on Bikes

The latest addition to the Relief in Abstract roster comes in the form of Spies on Bikes and my god it's a good one. His debut album is called Man Overboard, it's basically this beautiful mix of ambience and intensity patterned by secluded vocals and shimmering synths. It sounds complicated; and in a way it is, but it's genuinely a great album, pulled together with such clarity I'd recommend it to anybody.

As with all Relief in Abstract releases, the album is available to download on a name your price basis over at their bandcamp. You can stream a couple of my picks below, enjoy:

xxyyxx

This is like the whole reason I love xxyyxx. I feel like I'm floating, partly because the title of the song is actually Love Cloud, but really it's a pretty fitting name cause it's one of those 'life is so great' songs. Like if everybody listened to stuff like this more often I'm pretty sure the world would be a much better place. Anyway, the track is taken from Dolor which was released just yesterday, available over at Bandcamp on a 'name your price' basis. So go get it & enjoy:

Fortune Howl

This is like, wow. Fortune Howl is part of Relief in Abstract(a label I post about all the time) and this is Depths, I think it's called Depths because it's a literal narrative into the creative of Bryce Linde's mind, like I couldn't really name any of these tracks as being a solid part of a specific genre; hell I wouldn't know what to call them. So I'm just going to describe them as being something that has spawned from the mind of a creative genius, a creative genius who has a very good ear for creating the most beautiful thing from the most obscure sounds.

The track below is my personal favourite, it's called Help and - as with all RIA releases - it's completely free to download. Click here to download/stream the rest of the release:

GRANT

Remember that great track we posted the other week? As promised here's the debut full-length from GRANT; released via Relief in Abstract on the 20th of this month it's now available on a name your price basis below, it's glorious.

GRANT

We cover Relief in Abstract releases a lot on here, but that's just cause they're so bloody good. So I'd like to introduce you to their freshest release from GRANT, a more than talented guy who started out in a bunch of ordinary indie/rock bands. I say 'ordinary rock bands' cause the music he makes as a producer of electronic music is far from ordinary.

Yesterday saw the release of the track Kerosene, a beautiful piece which delves into some of the warmest, fuzziest places I can think of - I want to do nothing more than watch the sun set somewhere warm with this dancing in my ears. Also, this very much reminds me of Shlohmo, the comparison itself should entice you to listen - anyone who can be likened to such an artist deserves recognition in my books to say the least.

GRANT is due to release a full-length this summer, we'll keep you posted with that one. For now you can DL Kerosene absolutely free or on a name your price basis right here. Bargain, thanks RIA:

XXYYXX

Things just seem to keep getting better & better for Orlando's Marcel Everett(XXYYXX), he's just dropped a new self-titled album, his sophomore follow up to "Still Sound". This time the whole chillwave tag has been dropped for a much darker sound which fits in a lot more comfortably with the likes of Salem or Clams Casino. This is a release which not only exemplifies a matured sound, but pretty solidly cements respect for Marcel's music.

I don't like to single artists out for their age, but this guys 16, and the sheer quality on this record really outstands alot of what I've heard from producers double his age - give him 10 years and this guy's going to take over the world or something.

Definite highlights are the beautiful 'About You' and 'Never Leave'. I have to hand it to Relief in Abstract, it seems that every release they have on the cards is pretty special, I strongly urge you to download as much as you can. You'll never regret it, so pick up XXYYXX's album below - name your price via Bandcamp! Enjoy.

Ruddyp // XXYYXX Split

XXYYXX and Ruddyp just dropped their split EP via Relief in Abstract. These two are paired perfectly for a split release, with an unparalleled skill for manipulating vocal samples and producing some of the most glorious beats, the tracks flow so well into eachother and their styles compliment one another to a tee - something which isn't always the case when splits are put out. Below I've picked out my personal stand-outs for a free DL, but head over to the bandcamp site to grab the rest of the EP absolutely free:

XXYYXX - Metals

Ruddyp - Good Food
