Dream Koala

I've only just gotten the chance to listen Julia Losfelt's debut EP which came out Sunday and obviously it's everything I wanted it to be, plus a little bit more with the addition of this Dream Koala remix of Up Today. Give it a listen below, and more importantly; buy the record.

Damocles

Atlanta's Damocles is releasing The Clear Sound on November 10th. It's a beautiful album which touches upon the experimental, the ambient & the interesting. You can stream my personal favourites below, but the whole thing is up for previewing over at Bandcamp.

Weval

Dutch duo Weval just released their debut Half Age EP on Atomnation today. This is a pretty brilliant record that would probably shut up even the most knowledgeable walking-genre-dictionary for at least 5 minutes, hopefully even permanently. Stream a few of the tracks below:

Deptford Goth

Today, Deptford Goth released his hugely anticipated debut LP Life After Defo, an album I'm only a couple of listens in to and can already predict heavy involvement in those end-of-year-lists.
A long with that comes the release of a video for Feel Real, it's one of the album highlights, and I don't really believe any form of symbolisation or representation of this track could do it enough justice. But it is rather stunning, and even includes the lyrics so you can sing along.

The Android Angel

I'm pleased to premiere a track from  The Android Angel today,  who're currently on the 6music radar. Her Shoulders is a rather heartbreaking 3 and a half minutes - romantic, raw and honest  -  it features on the album Lie Back and Think of England out later this year. Stream below:

Team Morale

Kent duo Team Morale have just announced their debut EP Forteana for February 18th, and with that comes this beautiful self-made video for Aurora. The track itself feels inspired by the sublime, the kind that encourages unknown longings - the quality in music that hits me most I think. Funnily enough,  'Forteana' is a word that expresses a belief in the unusual, the unexplainable and the magical - I'd say Aurora fits within that definition pretty well. Enjoy.

Mister Lies

I cannot wait for the release of Mister Lies' debut full-length next month. We've already heard a couple of cuts from Mowgli, for example align and dionysian, both amazing. But nothing quite prepared me for the sheer beauty of Hounded, the newest teaser from the album. Featuring stunning vocals from Exitmusic, it's the best near-4 minute experience I've had all day. Dead Ceremony

Here I have the first ever track from Dead Ceremony, a new project straight out of London. Trophy is really, really beautiful: sultry vocals paired with perfect production from the hugely talented Maths Time Joy, ideal listening for a snowy evening. Stream Below:

Cry Guy

Cry Guy is a new duo consisting of Little Spoon's Cameron Potter and his friend Virginia, and their track Gumdrop Wishes is simply breathtaking. Promising a full-length release this Spring titled Tears of Whatever, I seriously can't wait to hear more from them. Huge props to NFOP for posting this track originally, stream below:

Stubborn Heart

I know it's pretty uncool to blog extensively about one artist in such a short space of time, but trust me; in this case it's justified. Stubborn Heart are to release their debut album via One Little Indian on 5th November and Starting Block is their newest single to be taken from it. This duo are without doubt my favourite discovery of the year so go stream their song below:

Daphni

Dan Snaith is a modern-day musical hero. He's the guy behind both Caribou AND Daphni which I think is kind of insane. So, whilst we're sat round twiddling our thumbs waiting for his follow-up to 2010's Swim album under Caribou, we can stick on some brand new Daphni - how cool is that? Pairs is the first single to be taken from an apparently upcoming Daphni debut. This is pretty confusing to write, so just go ahead and stream away below:

Virgin Minds

Here's some music for a Saturday night. I don't really know anything about Virgin Minds except that this song appears to be their first and it's catchy as hell. Also this is probably going to get stuck in your head for days, stream & download below:

Holy Other

Finally, Holy Other's debut album is here. Well, not quite - it's released next week (28/07) via TriAngle Records but I think this may already be one of my favourite albums of the year. But don't fret about the wait, cause we got it available to stream in its entirety right below :

Purity Ring

Much to my excitement, Purity Ring announced earlier this month that their debut LP will be released on the 24th of July via 4AD. When I think of Purity Ring I always think of how much I love them, I'd never usually contemplate using the word 'love' with regards to a band I've only ever heard 3 songs of prior to this track. But you have to love them, cause they're music can do this weird thing with your mind where you feel ecstatically creeped out listening to their weird glitch-stepping (forgive me for inventing/using that term), something which I doubt could ever be replicated in any other form. So the track below is called Obedear, unfortunately the download limit has maxed out on soundcloud, but there's a free DL link here (via Pitchfork).
