Kyross
I hear a little nod towards Mount Kimbie's Made to Stray on this super nice Coal Lung remix by 16 year-old Kyross. The Vancouver producer challenges any hint of predictable expectation by completely reversing the tempo in the second half, pushing the track further into its own & unveiling true talent.

Mount Kimbie
It's pretty much fact that anything Mount Kimbie produces will be bang on flawless. They've put together this remix of Kelis' Jerk Ribs - a track taken from her new album Food which is to be released (somewhat surprisingly) via Ninja Tune late April. And guess what? It's totally flawless.
ILNL's tracks of 2013 :: Part 1
It's here! The obligatory end of year best-of list! So this is part 1 of 2 - the tracks that had me obsessing and drooling over them continually throughout 2013.
Thanks for a great one everybody:

Julia Losfelt
The supremely talented Julia Losfelt returns with this cover of You Took Your Time, which is taken from the new Mount Kimbie Album. I'm pretty sure she breaks hearts with that voice, listen and download below:
Mount Kimbie
Yesyesyes Mount Kimbie (Mount bloody Kimbie!) are returning with new material and it's everything I hoped it'd be. The duo have a pretty busy year ahead with news of a US tour, not to mention their appearences at SXSW, in the Boiler Room and at The xx's Night + Day mini-festival. Listen to Made to Stray now.
Rounds
Rounds released their rather spectacular Falter EP today via Blind Colour. The trio tick all the right boxes for me, drawing influence from all the right places - they combine the band aesthetic with heady production to create a sound pretty unmatched. I know that sounds almost stupid to say when every other artist making new music is attempting to bridge the production-instrumental divide. But what Rounds do, they do very well: think Mount Kimbie and Radiohead, and you're half-way there. Below you can stream the official video for the single Falter:

SirDeckster
I think producers are like modern day orchestral conductors or something, the way they arrange the smallest beats and sounds and make everything fit into place blows my mind - personally I think they deserve so much more hype than they get in the poppy musical world. This particular producer's called Miguel Fernandez (SirDeckster), he hails from Brussels and takes great influence from artists such as Elaquent and Mount Kimbie. The track below has a wonderful atmosphere to it, vocals come from Mari Posa, something to get lost in.
