ILNL's tracks of 2013 :: Part 2

Following on from the first batch last week, here's the second and final instalment of my tracks of 2013. Every single track on this list contributed towards making this year the best one yet, see you in 2014 everybody:

ILNL's tracks of 2013 :: Part 1

It's here! The obligatory end of year best-of list! So this is part 1 of 2 - the tracks that had me obsessing and drooling over them continually throughout 2013.

Thanks for a great one everybody:

Cameo Pink

I have very little info on Cameo Pink, all I can really tell you is that he/she/they sound bloody good. Treasure is the second track which has a sort of Maribou State/Pedestrian vibe to it, with some Jamie xx style steel sounds (try saying that out loud) thrown in for good measure. Listen below:

TCTS

Tonight I'm lucky enough to be seeing Chic, Maribou State, Hot Chip & TEED at the Warehouse Project - I'm so excited it's unreal. Continuing with the whole Mancunian theme, I thought I'd share Greco Roman's latest from Manchester-based producer TCTS. Over has all the makings of a perfect Friday night track - work and commitments can banish the mind to make way for freedom to enter and erupt within. Enjoy everybody:

Maribou State

Stream the title track from Maribou State's forthcoming Truths EP (21/10). Vocals are covered by the hugely talented Jimi Nxir, and as with anything this pair put out, it has the makings of an absolute classic - understated but highly addictive. Listen here:

Kuage

Parisian producer Kuage serves up a slice of summer with the infectious A Part of You. This one is for fans of Maribou State, Pedestrian and so on. So go outside and go dance to this somewhere with all your friends:

Maribou State

The number of times I post about Maribou State probably isn't healthy and definitely doesn't make for good blogging etiquette. But then, that in itself is a dead give away as to just how bloody great they are. Take a listen to their flawless remix of George Maple's Fixed below:

Maribou State & Pedestrian

Once again I'm left speechless after hearing a Maribou State track. This collaboration with the equally brilliant Pedestrian really is music comparable to no other. Stream below:

Songs of 2012: Part 2

Here's the second installment covering the tracks that really shaped my year. Unfortunately I set myself a limit of 20 for this, but could happily post at least another 50. You can check out part one by clicking here, enjoy:

Maribou State

I heard a preview of this like a month ago and I've been waiting around for the full track like a nervous dog waiting for its owner to come home ever since. The super chill vocals come from the incredibly talented Saint Saviour, too many vibes I can't really put it into words - stream below:

Maribou State

Yet another insanely good remix from Maribou State. This time they take Submotion Orchestra's Blind Spot (a band I love) warp the jazzy/dub-inspired percussion, stick in a few wavy synths to transform the track into this:

Alpines & Maribou State

I love it when a good song gets remixed with the outcome being that the remix turns out to be just as good as(if not better than) the original. This is Maribou State's take on the fabulous Alpines track Empire, which is pretty much like a fresh, summery wave of euphoria fit for the dancefloor. It's also proof that the London duo are probably going to blow up massively right about now after proving to be consistently great so keep those ears tuned everybody.
