David Douglas

Atomnation's David Douglas returns after his stunning 2012 debut with promise of a new EP out January 27th and a debut full-length out some time later this year. On both is the wonderfully effervescent Higher which you can stream below:

C H I A R A

Sometimes all you need is a bit of synth & soul to end the day right. Chiara Noriko is more than likely going to become the sweetheart of 2014 - be prepared JW. Download the beautiful Be in the moment below:

PLOY

So the best day of the best day of the year (pancake day) is drawing to a close, Valentines Day is a complete no-go for me and so now I'm just waiting round for that precious summer sun to touch my skin. Yeah it's 4 months away but listen to this track by Ploy and imagine you're surrounded by cocktails, it kind of works:

Anomaly

This is on another level, it comes from Anomaly, an artist who unfortunately I don't actually know anything about except that this track of theirs Rush Hour was released a couple of days ago via a pretty reliable English label called Sick Music Records.

It kind of matches my sudden and current obsession with synth-fueled, pop-inspired records because instrumentally, it sounds a bit M83-ish. But there's something about the girls voice singing this which is completely hypnotic. Like I feel embarrassed tagging this as synth-pop cause the voice adds another dimension that kind of makes me think that using the word pop in any shape or form to describe this record completely undermines how good it is. The good news is that you can buy this immediately by clicking here

P.S. this is the first thing I've bought on iTunes in about 3 years, so enjoy:

Teen Daze & Zambri

This was premiered on No Fear of Pop the other day and my oh my what a great pairing it is. Teen Daze has remixed a favourite of mine, Zambri's Hundred Hearts. And in true Teen Daze style all signs of darkness have been shed, instead being transformed into this joyfully uplifting piece of goodness (forgive me for that sentence), so enjoy:
